How to download Arduino IDE Software

Solution: Go through this link https://www.arduino.cc/en/software

Here are some direct links to download the Arduino IDE software for a particular operating system:

Windows:

when the Arduino Board is connected to laptop/computer, Port is not visible in Arduino IDE.

Disconnect the Arduino cable & connect once again,  now port will be visible on your Arduino IDE.

How to upload the program to the Arduino Board?

Follow the below steps:

  1. Connect Arduino Board to your Laptop/computer using Arduino Cable.

  2. Open Arduino IDE.

  3. Download the sparklebox code folder for perticular robot & add it in Arduino Example folder(check in this page how to add sparkle box code folder in arduino exmaple folder)    OR    if you want to upload other code/Program, then open any example code from Arduino IDE.

  4. if sparkle box code folder downloaded then open any example program file from that folder in Arduino IDE.

  5. Click on the verify option.

  6. Click on the Upload option & wait till done uploading.

  7. It's Done. The program is uploaded to the Arduino Board.

I am facing issue while uploading the code.

Solution 1: Go to Tools->Board->select Arduino Uno board.

Solution 2: Board is selected as Arduino Board, then disconnect & connect cable again & check port, Go to-> Tools-> port-> Select com port. Now try to check by uploading the code.

Solution 3: Remove any wiring connections to the Arduino Board & then try to Upload the code.

How to Download Sparklebox code Folder & how to add it in Arduino Example folder?

In this FAQ page 

Select particular DIY Robot Issue. e.g(I purchased....)

in that you will get all the Resources to build the Robot.

Click on the Sparkle box code folder link. you will be redirect to the download page, click on the Sparkle box folder & download that folder. after that Unzip the file “SPARKLEBOX CODE.” It should be located in your browser’s “Downloads” folder. Right-click (or ctrl + click) the zipped folder and choose the “unzip/Extract Here option. 

WINDOWS: Copy or move the unzipped “SPARKLEBOX Code” files from “Downloads” to the Arduino application’s “Examples” folder 

  1. copy the unzipped folder 
  2. go to this  folder path:  Local Disk(C:)->Program Files(x86)->Arduino->examples.(For windows OS)
  3. paste it here.
  4. Now you can open any examples. 
  5. open  Arduino IDE->go to File->Examples->Sparklebox_code->Select any example.
How to Connect 1.5V batteries to the Circuit?

you will find AA cell holder connection in this PDF.

Do Connections as per given details

Cell holder               Motor Driver Module

Red wire    ----------   (+) polarity

Black wire  ----------   (-) polarity

Now to power Arduino Board with same battery, so take two male to male wires & connect them to motor driver module

Motor driver Module              Arduino Board

wire from (+)polarity   ---------  VIN

wire from (-)polarity    ---------  GND

Motors not working

Solution1:

Make sure that you connected external batteries to the circuit properly. (red wire to (+) polarity & black wire to (-) polarity of motor driver module Make sure that Arduino board is powering through battery supply(red led on the Board should glow).

Solution2:

Avoid loose connections with supply wire connections Watch the solution video for this issue. In this video basic test of motor driver is performed (like only motor forward rotation).https://bit.ly/3CDnh2t

I am facing issues with Bluetooth module

Issue 1: Module is not working

Solution: Make sure that the Bluetooth module is powered properly.(when it is powered, the LED on the module will start blinking)

Issue 2: Module is not connecting with mobile app

Solution: Open Bluetooth settings in your Android/iOS device and search for a new Bluetooth device (make sure your Bluetooth module is connected to Arduino UNO and the LED inside the Bluetooth module is blinking before pairing it with your Android/iOS device).

Your Bluetooth module will be either having the name “JDY- 0031” or "HC-05", please click on the Bluetooth device and proceed typing the pairing code “1234”, to pair it accordingly.

Next try to connect that device from any Bluetooth mobile app

Issue: Bluetooth is connected but robot is not working

Solution: check with TX/RX pins connection with Arduino Board.

Bluetooth Module Arduino Board 2,3 rx/tx

TX ---------------------pin no 3

RX ---------------------pin no 2

Bluetooth Module is not connecting with App
  1. unpair the "JDY-31-SPP" or "HC-05"from your mobile Bluetooth setting, 

  2. Then click on Search for devices(make sure that your Bluetooth module is turned ON & its led blinking continuously.

  3. if you get "JDY-31-SPP" OR "HC-05" in list, try to pair it using 1234 pin.

  4. now open the Bluetooth app & try to connect it with your Bluetooth module.

  5. It will connect immediately. 

  6. repeat above steps when you stuck with this issue.

I am facing issues with Ultrasonic sensor

Case 1: Sensor not detecting any obstacles/edges.

Solution: Try to check the sensor with a basic test. Just upload Newping example code from arduino IDE examples &check whether you are receiving valid distance in cm on serial monitor.

Eg. Open Arduino IDE->Go to File->Examples->NewPing->open NewPing Example

Case 2: Sensor checked with basic test, but distance is showing 0 cm all time.

Solution: Try to fix your wire connections with sensor, avoid loose connections Or you can also check the video: https://bit.ly/37BuQrX

I am facing issues with Flame sensor / LDR sensor

Case 1: sensor not detecting any flame/light near to it.

Solution : make sure that your sensor is powered. LED will on that sensor if it's getting power properly.

Case 2: Power LED is glowing on that sensor but not detecting flame/light near to the sensor.

Solution: Try to vary the blue pot on the sensor using a screwdriver, try to put a torchlight near to the sensor & vary the pot & check whether the 2nd led is glowing or not.

(Note: second LED will only glow when it detects light/flame near to it.)

I am facing issues with IR Sensors

Case 1 : Both Led’s on the sensor are not Working/glowing.

Solution: make sure that wires are connected properly, avoid loose connections.

Case 2 : One Led is constantly ON but the other one is not glowing/ Sensor detects objects from very little distance.

Solution: put any object in front of the sensor with a few distance. Take a Screwdriver & try to vary the blue pot on the sensor.

(Note: second LED will blink only when it detects object in front of sensor)

I received a different chassis which is different from the Manual.
Chassis might be different, but it will not affect to the working of the Robot, if you face any issues with assembly please reach to us.
How to scan those QR Codes from Manual?
If your smartphone does not have QR Scan App, then please download QR Reader App & scan the QR codes.

How to get started with Arduino Board with simple Activity?

You can upload LED Blink example from Arduino IDE.

  1. open Arduino IDE.

  2. connect your Arduino Board to your Laptop/Desktop using Arduino Cable.

  3. Go to File->Examples->Basic->Select Blink.

  4. Go to Tools->Board->Select Arduino Uno.

  5. Go to Tools->Port->Select Com Port.

  6. Go to Sketch->click on Verify option OR (you can use shortcut key from your keyboard Ctrl+R) OR you can click on verify icon.

  7. Go to Sketch ->click on upload option OR (use shortcut key from keyboard Ctrl+U) OR you can click on upload icon.

  8. After successful upload you will find inbuilt LED on the Arduino Board is blinking.

Is there any extra pin for 5V in the Arduino Board?

Yes.

In the Arduino board you can use 5V or IOREF pin for VCC. 

How to Get started with Esp32 Board?
  1. Download Arduino IDE Software (version 1.8+), you can check in this page how to download it.

  2. After installing Arduino IDE, open it &  Go to File -> Preference.

  3. Now in Preference window, enter the link given below in “Additional Boards Manager URLs” https://dl.espressif.com/dl/package_esp32_index.json

  4. Close Preference window and go to Tools -> Board -> Boards Manager

  5. In the Boards Manager window, type “esp” in the search box; ESP32 will be listed there below. Now select the latest version of the board and click on install.(Note: your laptop/desktop should have internet connection to install this things.)

  6. After installation of the board is complete, open Tools->Board-> and select ESP32 Dev Module.

  7. Now you can open your program file in Arduino IDE.

  8. Connect ESP32 Board to your laptop/Desktop using Micro USB cable.

  9. open Tools->port-> and select com port.

  10. click on the verify option.

  11. click on the Upload option

How to Get started with Grade 8 & 9 IOT activities?
  1. Install ESP32 board in Arduino IDE(you can check the solution how to download it, in this support page).

  2. Install Blynk Library in Arduino IDE.(Go to Sketch->Include Library->Manage Libraries, Library window will open, Type Blynk in the search box and select the latest version to install.(Note: You should have internet connection to install it))

  3. Install Blynk app in your Andriod/IOS Mobile. (blynk app link for andriod https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cc.blynk)
